[ she'd have thought, when he accepted her suggestion of sparring, that he's actually capable of holding his own. clearly, he isn't -- at least not against someone with as much training as she does. it's a quick combination of aiming a jab at his side to push him further off-balance before she does something complicated that involves twisting his arm and pushing him toward the ground with a leg. ]

[ He slowly lifts a finger and as if being pulled on a string, the knife in her hair lifts off of her head (cleanly, he's not trying to give her a haircut), before he directs it over to the wall with a quick swipe.

[ he's lifted a knife. he hasn't killed her and he hasn't tried to take over anyone's free will. even if he were a monster —dutch would have no room to judge. in many ways, she is one, and she doesn't have any special powers. ]
[ she considers his posture for a moment, walking around him once. then she nudges one of his arms up a little, both hands on his shoulders to adjust his centre of gravity just a bit. ]
There. [ she wanders back out in front of him. ] Now try to land a blow. Keep going until I tell you to stop. [ she'll be a moving target, evading all his blows. it's about finding out whether his form while punching is decent, too. that, and it'll train his muscles at the same time. multi tasking. ]

And then he nods acknowledging his task, and then tries to land a couple jabs.
Yeah, obviously he would have tried to go for a jab. He tries a slip instead, and then tries to follow her around.
His form isn't terrible, but it's not second nature, for sure. But at least she's not starting from zero? ]
