This is Jack Benjamin - we ran into each other a couple times, talked powers. You mentioned that this sort of thing was common in your world, and I was wondering if you had any advice to part with on the topic.
[ mainly: controlling it, training it, making it better. ]
[this is a belated message, but she figures she needs to send it now that she's been here a couple weeks. she should have sent it sooner, probably, but.. better late than never? sure. we'll go with that reasoning.]
Hi. I ... was told you were here.
[nah this isn't awkward at all.
not
at
a l l.]
I'm Wanda Maximoff. You might have known me here before, I don't know, but I recently arrived (again).
[maaaaaaybe that name means something to him. mmmmmmmmaybe not. or, more likely, maybe she just sounds like a weirdo right about now.]
[This is the second of two messages Wanda has sent since her return earlier today. She's back from being ported out and back home for what was a year and a few days in her universe's time, but was apparently only two days in this one. Weird. Two days isn't long at all, sure, but she figures that if anyone had noticed her absence in those 48 hours, it would have been either Billy or Erik, or both. So, sending both of them a message first is probably a good idea, either way; she'd want them to do the same, too. Now that she's sent one to Billy, she sends this one right after.]
So. Remember your weird porter glitch thing? I spent the last two days here, spending a year and a few days in my universe. Guess what - I'm still good at angering every government ever there, and Tony Stark is still an ass who I want to telekinetically fling off a cliff.
[ Okay, so. All of this is getting a little out of hand. Everyone around Gansey has gone insane, Billy is still a terrified eight year old, and he needs to fix this thing.
He also needs an adult. Please. ]
Hello, is this Erik Lehnsherr?
I'm terribly sorry, I know we don't know each other, but I do know your grandson, and--
Oh, Christ. Please tell me that you're still yourself, first of all. The whole Network seems affected. Do you remember who your grandson is?
[He isn't sure if Erik remembers him. They only met once, and it would have been two years ago by this world's time, though less from Nathaniel's. It's common enough for people to leave and come back without their memories.]
... Mr. Lehnsherr. This is Na-- John Mandrake. [That's the name he would've introduced himself by, two years ago.] I've located your grandson. [Technically. It isn't hard for him to find Billy. He feels like a beacon of magic.] He's been asking for you.
[It finally happened. Someone she's close to from her version of these similar universes finally showed up from the same point in time she's from. Which she does like, because it's nice having a close friend around who's been through the same things. But it's not so great because when she was briefly ported out three months ago to live thirteen months back home, some Serious Shit went down -- especially closer to the latter portion of those months. She was able to come back and pretend like everything was fine, because she'd felt safe here, thanks to making friends pretty quickly, but also mostly thanks to the two members of her family here -- even if it was family from other versions of their similar universes. (Later that would become three members, when Peter recently showed up about a month ago.) And she also wanted to seem okay for them, because how could she be there for them if they needed her for something, if she were too busy being caught up in spiraling into a pit of depression and seclusion because of what she experienced back home? She thinks she's done a pretty damn good job of appearing perfectly fine on the outside for the past three months, even if when she's by herself, she never felt that okay. She doesn't regret keeping her actual emotions outside of anyone's sight, but she feels that with Clint showing up, her hand has been somewhat forced on the issue -- even though Clint would probably not discuss much of what happened back home with many people here -- and that she ought to finally tell the person with probably the least amount of awareness of those events, What Actually Happened.
So, it's after she speaks with Clint that she sends a very, very, overdue message, considering this should have been said soon after she got back. If not the same day, then at least the same week.]
Yeah so a close friend of mine arrived here today, from the same version of the universe, same point in time as I was when I came back here three months ago.
When I came back and basically said the exciting thing was throwing cars at Tony, and there was a passing mention of being good at angering governments still? I think I should have said way more about the latter.
[Because that doesn't sound super ominous or anything. :/
She's definitely N O T planning on having this conversation over text, though, so if he doesn't beat her to asking if she's free to meet somewhere, she'll do that next.]
Mr. Lehnsherr, I'm calling to follow up on your interest in performing a bit of voice work. I'd like to schedule an appointment with you sometime this week to do recordings for Yiddish, Hebrew, Polish, and French. Each language reading is likely to take somewhere between 2-3 hours.
Seeing as it's a fair bit of work, I'd suggest not recording more than two languages in a single day in the interest of preserving your voice. To that end, please do let me know what days would work best for you this week. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
[ Perhaps it's a bit old-fashioned, but the message arrives for Erik via mockingbird. Sealed closed by a wax mockingbird sigil, the letter is hand-written in careful cursive. ]
Dear, Mr. Lehnsherr -
We have not spoken before, but my name is Petyr Baelish. I serve as the ambassador for Maurtia Falls. I write to you on behalf of a project I am working on within my city. Construction has already begun on rebuilding a much larger library, but I wish for this to be more than simply a bigger structure. I hope to inspire education and the spread of knowledge to the natives of Maurtia Falls as well as provide an invaluable resource to new arrivals here. But more than that, I wish to use it to pay homage to the natives who lost their lives within Maurtia Falls due to imPort related tragedies. Their names will be honored within the library itself and donations will be set up to be made to the families.
For this project to succeed, I need your help. If you are able to donate anything at all to the cause, it would be most appreciated -- whether that is books, money, or simply your time. I believe this would be an excellent way to give back to the community and make a positive impact.
I thank you for your time, and I do hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely, Ambassador Petyr Baelish
[ OOC: You can feel free to just respond to this OOCly if he would donate anything or not! ]
It was approximately four am, so it could stand to reason that Erik was asleep, though this was Erik so he may have also been adding a new wing on the house while making a soup. Charles doesn't judge. He enjoys the additional space and eats the soup!
Still.
Hopefully Erik was sleeping when he got a telepathic nudge. ]
Erik is indeed making soup. Not adding new wings to the house, but just trying out a new recipe to take to work for lunch before the weather gets too warm to want soup. ]
[Today is Wanda's birthday, yay. She took off work at the bakery to ... apparently do more work. She's been in her own kitchen, phone on silent and playing music while she's worked for a few hours since this morning baking cakes -- yes, more than one, mostly because she can't decide what kind she wants today. The first part of this text is three separate images of cakes: one: cake with so much fruit, two: shiny cake 1, three: shiny cake 2. The second text is words: ]
ok so, my hands are going to fall off. also what kind do you want to eat later, because I can't decide.
[yes she really is asking him which one to eat. look. whatever ok.
also she just assumes she will see him sometime today tbh]
Re: » text | June 5th; idk sometime earlyish afternoon probably
[First off, May and June need to be struck from the record, deleted from the calendar, erased from history, because especially over the past few years, some bad shit has happened every May and-slash-or June. This year is apparently no different. What started out as a chill week this week quickly became 'it looks like Billy got ported out and I kind of want to deny Porter Shenanigans but also it's been more than a couple of days and no I don't care if people can come back later like Charles just did I am still going to be Upset'.
It's while lying on her floor, after work, spread out like a pathetic starfish that she picks up her phone and dials Erik. Maybe he knows wtf is going on that is a better answer than the likely one.
[ He picks up, not knowing why she called but having a rather sneaking suspicion. He's been to the store once or twice, and Billy's never not at the store. ]
[ There's a package on Erik's pillow one day. It has a shirt in it. There's a nicely drawn picture of Erik with all his three children that Charles knows of and Billy as well. Charles found some pictures of him and took them to the artist. On top of the picture reads: "Dadneto". This wasn't his idea but the girl's idea who did the picture. But he thought it was cute, so... there it is. ]
